INSPECTION SERVICES
The main objective of Asset inspection is to determine its current condition, corrosion rate and active damage mechanisms, to accurately as possible predict likely material thickness and future point at which loss of integrity may occur, allowing suitable inspection and maintenance programs be implemented, preventing loss of integrity or failure. We provide a comprehensive range of inspection services for bulk storage tanks, piping and vessels, combining engineering inspection services, non-destructive examinations, reporting and recommendations. All Inspectors are certified in accordance with either an American or Australian Standards.
In conjunction with our Inspection services we can take the hassle and cost out of having to engage a number of contractors, by carrying out all inspection preparation and return to services tasks.

On the completion of all asset inspections a report is supplied verifying inspection findings, these reports can be tailored to customer specifications.
TANK CLEANING & DEGASSING
Regular tank cleaning is a mandatory requirement for most industrial storage Tanks to remain compliant and allow effective and thorough Condition Assessment & Integrity Monitoring to take place.
Assets that store various types of liquid to be effectively inspected eventually need to be taken off line for the Statutory “Off Stream” Inspections. A high-risk part of this process is removing the liquid, slurry or emulsion and entering a Hazardous Atmosphere to conduct cleaning in accordance with Health and Safety Legislation, with the wide range of liquids stored having an adverse effect of human health and the environment where exposed, prior to any inspection taking place the asset needs to be in a cleaned and degassed condition where risk of entering the Asset to conduct routine activities, is reduced to ALARP (as low as reasonably possible).
Golding Tank Services personnel are trained in all aspects of transfer, handling and cleaning a wide variety of corrosive, combustible, flammable and volatile liquids. Our detailed work methodologies, risk assessment, permitting system, experience, skilled personnel, and procedures provides the highest level of Safety during all operations. With the only Certified Tank Entry Supervisor in Australia, and a training programme that will see all Supervisors becoming qualified Tank Entry Supervisors (APITES), we understand the primary risks and how to keep our people safe during all Confined Space Entry.
Associated with the cleaning process we also carry out all asset mechanical isolations, air gapping, product transfers, spills management and clean up, high pressure cleaning, set up and supply of temporary storage assets and waste disposal.
ABRASIVE BLASTING & PAINTING
The most effective means of any form inspection is inspection with the naked eye, while it’s not always practical to remove coating and wasteful where the coating exhibits good adhesion and continued surface protection, coating removal is necessary to carry out some of the basic Non-Destructive Examination requirements of an “Off Stream” Tank Inspection and for Alteration or Repairs to take place. We carry out all types of coating scopes, from coating of new metal right through to maintenance coating of a surface where the original coating has failed.
Golding Tank Services coating removal and surface preparation capabilities consists of:
-
Dry Abrasive Blasting
-
Wet Abrasive Blasting
-
Dustless Coating Removal
-
High Pressure Water Blasting
To complement our Abrasive Blasting services we have specialist coating applicators whom apply the following commercial corrosion prevention systems:
-
Polyurea
-
Polyurethane
-
3 Coat Epoxy Systems
-
Glass Flake
-
Tank Lining
-
High Build
Our significant experience in maintenance and coating application to assets operating in semi or fully immersed high wear environments of CIL, Thickeners and other aggressive products provides our clients alternative corrosion protection options to the standard Epoxy or Glass Flake systems.
The key to achieving maximum coating life is the quality of the pre-application surface preparation technique. The application of the latest generation Polyurea coatings provides the ultimate protection delivering a formidable surface bond strong enough to with stand both the continued vibration, agitation and impact of a highly abrasive slurry.
Golding Tank Services has undertaken many relines of CIL/CIP tanks developing significant experience with the most appropriate high abrasion resistant systems, to include relining the tank internal walls, floor, baffles, agitation shafts and blades and associated steelwork as well as tank external coatings. After repairs of an asset Corrosion Protection plays a critical role in maintaining asset integrity and material condition.
Polyurea provides a combination of strength, flexibility, abrasion/chemical resistance and fast turnaround. With physical properties such as elongation of up to 400%, gel times of under 15 seconds and the ability to apply an unlimited thickness in a single application, the technology is unmatched. Polyurea has many uses across many industries.
ALTERATION, MAINTENANCE, RECONSTRUCTION & REPAIRS
Golding Tank Services in understanding the various construction, inspection and maintenance standards pertinent to storge and transfer assets knows only too well the level of skill required to comply with prescribed quality criteria. For tanks with a minimum 10-year duration between Off Stream Inspections a contractor that can achieve the level of quality required is peace of mind that the workmanship carried out will not lead to premature failure. We have comprehensive experience and procedures to carry out all types of minor or major Tank or Pipe Maintenance, such as:
-
Tank Construction and Reconstruction
-
Minor floor, shell or roof weld repairs

-
All pipe related repair, construction and modifications.
With a range of weld procedures and qualified coded welders we can deliver quality workmanship up to a standard, verified to be code compliant by a third-party NDT Company.
Our Technical Experts can review fabrication and repair works to verify their compliance with the governing asset Standard, following which certification of the asset Fit for Service. Such verification is a critical part of the Tank Data Record, the client must keep to prove the completion of the necessary corrective actions, as reported by the inspector.
Our Technical support experts can provide clients with an insight into the active damage mechanism that is causing material loss or degradation, integrity breach or non-compliance, allowing remediation activities to tailored specifically to the identified damage mechanism.
